Erode and Namakkal are two other districts in which the organization has its extension service for the rehabilitation of child labourers. Child labour is a growing problem in these places to an alarming extent. The District Labour Office and other government machinery often do not make enough effort to solve this unhealthy menace. Don Bosco Anbu Illam has tried to show solidarity with these vulnerable children by taking measures to rehabilitate them. The rehabilitation process takes place through Transit Schools and Community Based Organizations.
Erode
Erode municipality has a population of 5, 73,270 (District Population 23, 20,263) spreading over 8 sq.kms (District Area 8,209 sq.kms). Child labourers are prevalent working in textiles, handlooms, power looms and in hotels and restaurants. Being an industrial area many poor children flock to Erode for survival and find work in the textile mills. The organization has six slum based Transit Schools and engages in community mobilization together with supplementary education.
Nammakkal
Nammakkal municipality has a population of 2, 36,812 (District Population 12,34,218) spreading over 10 sq.kms (District Area 3,429 sq.kms).
